A girl was killed by a lightning bolt near Wakefield, Ontario. The bolt struck after the storm had passed. The same storm injured 11 people at a soccer match in Montreal. On average 6-12 people are killed per year by lightning in Canada, and an estimated 8 million lightning bolts hit the country every year.
