Welcome
Author - My name is Rabbit, Jack Rabbit. I run this small site for purely personal reasons. As an added benefit, friends and family from other places can check in and maybe see what we are up to.
There may be times when you happen to see me out mowing the lawn, or perhaps putting in some planter surrounds to cover some left over tree stumps. With luck, in 2008 there should be a lot more color in the yard than there is this year.
As far as the back yard goes, it is in need of some work as well. So far, we have filled in a hole where it appears that the previous residents removed a small tree, or maybe it was something one of their dogs dug up. :) We have also taken down a diseased plum tree and hope to replace it sometime in the fall.
The garden area is still a work in progress, as we have to basically start from scratch again. With any luck, I'm hoping to locate a small tiller, so that I don't have to resort to turning the ground up by hand some more.
Over the course of the next year or so, I'm going to attempt to get a "home weather station" up and running at this location. Eventually, the data from this home station will either replace, or augment the weather data recieved from The Weather Network. It will be a very much long term project due to the cost of these units, and that fact that I'm going to be footing the bill all on my own, with no corporate sponsorship of any kind on the horizon.

February 24, 2008 - Well, it looks like it's time to start up the yard work again for the season. Today, we made our first attack on the blackberry bush in the back yard. While we didn't make a whole lot of progress, there has been some signifigant damage inflicted on both sides of the battle. The area around one of the sheds has been reclaimed by the family, but the bush caused a few casualties of it's own... namely some very sore fingers and knees.
The next plan of attack wil be hitting the bush with some roundup (from a distance) to try and get ahead of the thing so we can have a bit of the yard back. After that, it'll be the job of the mop-up crew to go in and clean up all of the casualties.
If all goes according to plan, the first mowing of the yard should commence by the end of this month, followed quickly by tilling of the garden area. I'll be on the hunt for some good quality compost to work in to the garden as we were a little lax in turning our pile over this winter.
December 20,2007 - Pictures and videos from the Betty Huff Elementary Christmas Concert have now been posted! There is a new link on the left hand navigation panel that will take you to their little home on the site. If you click on any of the pictures, your browser will load the full sized image. If you have any pictures of videos that you want to share with the rest of the parents, just let me know and we can figure out a way to get them on the server!

The three images below are still captures from the cameras at the moment that you opened this web page. If it's nice and sunny, you'll see sunshine, if it's raining, you'll see rain, if it's dark, you won't see much!
Once I get my new still camera, I'm going to get out and take a few pictured from around the yard. This will be the place to keep track of the subtle changes that are taking place over the course of time. It should also give you views of our home that are unavailable with the live cameras.
